I graduated from a combined computing/science degree (with a physics major) from the University of Tasmania in 2005, with interests in remote sensing and Antarctic studies. The following year I obtained a first class honours degree in physics working with the upper atmospheric physicists from the Australian Government Antarctic Division, with a thesis title of "Type II Polar Stratospheric Cloud Detection over East Antarctica using Satellite Imagery". This work involved investigating ways to detect (using satellite imagery) the rare stratospheric clouds that form over Antarctica and Arctic regions, which contribute to ozone depletion.
My other interests include mountain biking, playing piano, and photography.
