PhD Student, Institute of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Studies, Australia

Margaret Lindsay is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Studies at the University of Tasmania with affiliations to the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) and Antarctic Climate and Ecosystem Cooperative Research Centre (ACE CRC).

Her PhD is titled “The Role of Appendicularians in Southern Ocean Carbon Flow and Trophodynamics”. This project involves determining the distribution and abundance of appendicularians (gelatinous zooplankton) that ultimately determine their role in carbon flows and trophodynamics.

During SIPEX Margaret will be deploying the Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) and ring net as part of the ongoing Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) survey.
