Professor, Dalian University of Technology, PRC

Yongxue Wang is a professor in Dalian University of Technology, China. His primary research interests are the numerical and experimental study on the interaction of ocean dynamic factor with coastal and offshore structures, and the anti-disaster measures on coastal and offshore structures. Yongxue Wang has Bachelor degree in Harbor and waterway engineering, Master degree and a Ph.D. in Coastal engineering from the Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China. Now he is the director of the Research Institute of Ocean Engineering of DUT.

Yongxue Wang started sea ice mechanics and ice engineering studies after the grant “theoretical and experimental study on the interaction of ice and structures” awarded by National Fund for Excellent Youths of China in 1998. The non-refrigerated breakable ice materials (called DUT-1 model ice) and the physical analogue technology have been developed and verified. Up to now, six research projects of ice forces acting on the ore terminals, oil terminals and bridge piers in Bohai sea are successfully conducted by using the DUT-1 model ice. Yongxue Wang also has the experience on the field investigation of physical and mechanical properties of Bohai’s sea ice.
