Meteorologist & Flight Support

I have been a Meteorologist for Australia's Bureau of Meteorology for the past six years. For the past four years I've been working in the Qantas Operations Centre in Sydney, providing meteorological advice for pilots, flight planners and flight operations staff. I took a 'break' from this in the summer of 2005/06 when I travelled to Antarctica for the first time, and was part of the met team based at Davis station.

During this voyage, my colleague and I will be providing support for the helicopter operations as well as weather forecasts for the ship's crew and scientists. Prior to joining the Bureau in 2001, I was an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, graduating from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1997.

When I'm not working, I'm either travelling (highlights have been Svalbard, Scotland and Japan), hiking, brushing up on my photography skills or at home playing with my two cats Oscar and Percy.
