Education

Two teachers from Tasmania are participating in the SIPEX expedition to help the scientists out on the ice and to communicate their findings back to students in the classroom. The teachers will write a daily update on all the new things they've learnt and how the scientists are progressing with their work. The teachers will also generate some classroom activities for teachers and answer questions from students all around the world. So join in the fun of learning all about Antarctica - register your school on our Google Maps page - and become part of a real polar expedition!!

Joining the teachers is their travel buddy Polar Knutsen. Polar is looking forward to discovering how Antarctica is different from his home in the Arctic. Polar has his own blog, so you can follow his adventures on the 'blogs' page.

Throughout this website you will find lots of interesting information about Antarctic Science and life on a big boat. Keep an eye for the red Try This ideas that you can do at home or in your class to help you better understand what we are doing.
