Situation: 

The low has now moved to our east, leaving us in a fresh to strong southwesterly stream.  A ridge is expected to move over Tasmania tomorrow, Wednesday. Please note that outlooks are not official.  The official outlooks are available at www.bom.gov.au

 

Current conditions at 0730 local Tuesday 16th October, 2007:

SW winds at 20 knots. Temperature 9.2°C, humidity 76%.  Cloudy.  Moderate seas.

 

Forecast for today, Tuesday 16th October 2007:

Chiefly southwesterly winds 20 to 30 knots.  Cloudy with showers. Seas and swell around 4 to 5 metres.

 

Forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday 17th October 2007:

Southwest winds 10 to 20 knots, tending variable 5 to 15 knots during the afternoon.  Seas and swell 3 to 4 metres in open water but decreasing inshore.  Cloudy with showers during the early morning, clearing by sunrise to a fine, mostly sunny day.

 

Provisional* Outlook for Thursday 18th October 2007:

Hobart: Fine - mostly sunny at first, with light to moderate northerly winds, strengthening during the afternoon. Cloud increasing during the day with a little rain developing at night

 

Provisional* Outlook for Friday 19th October 2007:

Hobart: A light shower or two, clearing during the morning.  Fresh to strong northwesterly winds tending light to moderate westerly.
