Integrated Rating

I am originally from Coffs Harbour home of the ‘Big Banana’, and have been at sea for 26 years. I trained on the job and have worked on a variety of vessels including container ships, bulk carriers, offshore and now the Aurora Australis. This is my third trip down to Antarctica which means I have to keep well up to date with my training. I have my Advanced Fire Fighting, First Aid and Sea Survival qualifications which all have to be updated regularly.

When on the boat I have a number of hobbies; one is fancy rope-work, which involves tying intricate knots and making animals out of rope, and the other is putting ships in bottles. When I’m not at sea I run my own business which is a Wendy’s franchise in Coffs Harbour. I am also the event coordinator for the Orara Valley Sevens – Rugby League which is a competition that involves sides from all over Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.
